Картонные крылья
Models made from paper? They have a lot of advantages:
- Wide choice of subjects to model and some of the subjects are uncommon in plastic
- Cheaper to print and construct than their plastic conterparts
- When you construct a plastic model, most of the time is consumed in finishing the model, but a paper model is enjoyed because it only needs constructing
- You can store many Paper/Card models in a small space before you assemble them.... :)
I`m amaised at how a flat plain peice of paper turns into an exact replica of a plane. It began in 1977 when I found out about the Maly Modelarz model company in Poland and I subscribed to it for 10 years ($0.10 per issue BTW). When my government underwent the social change of "Perestroyka", the opportunity of obtaining a subscription disapeared and I changed to 1:48 scale models made in plastic.
In the year 2000 I found some "paper" sites on the Internet and was very impressed by the large progress made in quality and choice of models. My unbuilt plastic models have been stored away and I have returned, once again to the world of paper/card models .
